5 月11 日中午官方亦正式發佈 Sony NEX-5 及 NEX-3。

NEX-5 及 NEX-3 的設定與 A550 可謂九成相似，配備了 1420 萬有效像素的 APS-C EXMOR CMOS，採用新設計的 E mount 鏡頭接口。快門速度於 1/4000 至 30 秒之間，最高閃光燈同步為 1/160 秒。感光度介乎 ISO200 – 12800 之間..

同時支援 JPEG 及 RAW 格式屏幕尺寸為 3 吋 92 萬點 LCD。NEX-5 與 NEX-3 之間的主要分別，在於高清影片及高速連拍有別。NEX5 可攝錄 1080i AVCHD FullHD 電影及最快可以 7 張連拍；NEX3 則可攝錄 720p HD 電影，最快可 5 張連拍。

從規格上，不計鏡頭在內，機身大小都比 Olympus E-P1 及 Panasonic GF1 細，僅闊度比 E-PL1 闊 2.2mm，但高度比三部機更低。以內置較大的 APS-C 機種來說，真的算得上是非常輕巧。
